FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — On Sept. 2, the Foley City Council approved the budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

According to a city news release, the budget includes $65.5 million to be used for capital expenses, $58 million for operational expenses, and $4.9 million for capital equipment.

City officials expect the total revenue for the General Fund in the upcoming year to be $71.9 million.

General Government-Administration Executive Director Cian Harrison said the $71.9 million is a 1.9 percent increase from the 2025 budget.

“We've taken a conservative approach to forecasting, even as new businesses continue to come online and strengthen our long-term outlook,” said Harrison.
