An injured hiker was rescued by the emergency flight service Two Bear Air near Bighorn Lake in the Bob Marshall Wilderness on Sunday.

A fellow hiker named Annie found the approximately 30-year-old female unable to stand on her swollen ankle. Using her iPhone, Annie was able to contact 911 through text using satellite connection at 12:17 p.m., according to police records.

Mackenzie Gill of the Helena Police Department answered the texts. Mercy Flight, a medical rescue helicopter team from Benefis Healthcare out of Great Falls, was sent to the approximate coordinates Annie provided the police department while she monitored the injured woman.
