STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Freevee, the popular free streaming service utilized by millions of viewers, has been taken down.

And as of Wednesday, Sept. 3, the service is being absorbed into Prime Video.

Amazon, it’s parent company, eliminated Freevee after months of providing customers with detailed information on what would lie ahead.

The main reason offered by Amazon, was to simplify the viewing experience, its streaming offerings, with all content, including original series, remaining accessible for free with ads within the Prime Video platform, even without a Prime subscription.

Note, there will be no change in content availability for Prime members, and a “Watch for Free” section will allow non-members to access the same ad-supported titles without a subscription.
