MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Five boxes of case files were just uncovered at the Medina County Sheriff’s Office related to the mysterious death of a Lafayette Township trustee.

Forty-five-year-old Bryon Macron disappeared in 2016.

Blood spatter marked the walls at the town hall where he was last seen.

A few miles away, his abandoned vehicle was found at Chippewa Lake.

But no sign of Macron.

Months later, a kayaker discovered Macron’s body in the lake.

His cause of death, to this day, however, remains unknown.

Investigators maintain that no one else was involved in Macron’s death.

Medina County Sheriff Terry Grice says the boxes were found this week on a top shelf inside a locked case file room.

A person looking for files in an unrelated case stumbled on them.
