DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people remain hospitalized after a semi crash jammed Interstate 70 for several hours Thursday.
The crash, which happened just after 5 p.m. Thursday in Mad River Township, brought westbound traffic on the interstate near State Route 4 to a halt for hours.
Sources said the two people hospitalized currently face serious injuries.
A preliminary investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol believes on semi heading west drove off the right side of the interstate and onto the shoulder before hitting another semi that was parked.
The collision spilled a large amount of oil, as well as generating other debris to obstruct traffic.
Due to the potential hazards of the spilled oil, Clark County’s Emergency Management Agency was called in to assist with the clean-up.
