ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A sting operation led to the arrest of ten people and the recovery of a missing teenager who was being sex trafficked in Rowan County.

22-year-old Kelton Isiah Sturdivant was charged with promoting prostitution of a minor, kidnapping and other crimes after he allegedly brought a 16-year-old to an undercover officer.

Rowan County deputies arrested Sturdivant, and found he was allegedly carrying a handgun and oxycodone. Sturdivant is being held on a $325,000 bond.

The child victim was reported missing in March 2025 by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and entered into the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children . They were turned over to the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.
