COLUMBUS, Ohio — One in five children in Ohio has a mental health condition, according to Buckeye Ranch. The nonprofit, which provides behavioral and mental health care for children, is responding to that need with a new $35 million facility.
The Hope Treatment Center, located in Grove City, is expected to open by the end of the year and will provide care for about 40 children at a time.
More than five years ago, Buckeye Ranch identified a critical gap in care for youth experiencing mental health crises. Many children were being sent out of state to receive treatment due to a lack of in-state resources.
