MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Desoto County District Attorney's Office says an initiative targeting sex offenders who failed to register resulted in ten convictions over the summer.
Friday, the DA released pictures of the men convicted following "Operation Creep Crawlers."
According to the DA, "Operation Creepy Crawlers" focused on ensuring that registered sex offenders complied with state reporting requirements, keeping communities safer.
“In Mississippi, failure to register as a sex offender is a serious felony,” said District Attorney Matthew Barton. “Sex offenders do not get the freedom to roam free in Mississippi. If you are caught doing it, we are going to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
