Ivy Tech Community College announced Thursday that John Gipson has been named the next chancellor of the Lake County campus

Gipson, who will assume the role on Sept. 29, is currently the chief of staff to the provost and the associate vice president for academic operations at Purdue University.

Ivy Tech President Marty Pollio said Gipson's experience would help serve the over 4,000 students across the three Lake County campus sites, saying "his understanding of the operational complexities of a large organization balanced with the needs of students and the community we serve will bring great to the region."
