Cyclists conducted a mass ride to City Hall in Philadelphia Friday evening to protest measures planned for concrete protections on half of the Spruce and Pine Streets bike lanes in Center City. They're demanding full protections.

According to an internal city memo, a recommendation to install concrete protections revealed that only half of Spruce and Pine streets bike lanes would be installed, instead of all lanes.

The group Philly Bike Action organized the event to demand full protection. The group says to only do half will compromise everyone's safety, not just cyclists.
