ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The 2025 Solutions Summit will be held in Alexandria on September 8, aimed at combating ways to reduce truancy rates in Louisiana.

“A second grader missing 60 days of school during a school year is not that second grader’s fault,” said Judge Loren Lampert, who leads the Juvenile Court System in the 9th Judicial District Court in Rapides Parish. “So, we give the parents an opportunity, or sometimes it’s not parents, sometimes it’s caregivers, but we give them an opportunity to modify their behavior and get these kids into school and start forming good school habits.”

Part of Lampert’s role includes overseeing juvenile prevention and a local FINS program , short for “Families in Need of Services.”
