PORTLAND, Maine — A woman who was reported missing along with her young son have both been found and are safe, according to state officials.

Maine State Police asked for the public’s help in locating a 29-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son who were last seen Friday in Portland.

The two were spotted around noon Friday at the McDonald’s on St. John Street, police said in a social media post , and authorities believed they may still be area.

Police shared an update Friday evening stating that both the woman and her son were found safe.
