TERRY Harper was horrified to discover the bad back he blamed on carrying a mattress up the stairs was actually 12 tumours 'eating away' at his spine.

Despite undergoing treatment, the dad-of-three from London now lives in constant agony after the cancer returned.

“I'm in pain the whole day,” the 62-year-old bus driver said. “Being hit by a bus would be easier.”

The disease has ravaged his back, massively changing his physique.

“I'm four and a half inches shorter than I used to be," he explained.

"All the discs in my back have collapsed together so it's painful.”

Terry first began suffering back cramps in April 2022, which he blamed on the demolition work he used to do and the strain of carrying a mattress upstairs.
