IT'S a long-held tradition in Britain that men should stand when it comes to peeing.

But doing the opposite could actually have a number of surprising health benefits .

Men who sit when weeing has become a hot topic of discussion for both health and hygiene reasons.

Different countries around the world apparently don't share the same sentiment as Brits.

Data collected by YouGov , shows just 9 per cent of British men like to plop themselves down when going for a tinkle.

Meanwhile, 40 per cent of German men like to park their rear while relieving themselves.

And a 2020 poll concluded 70 per cent of Japanese men choose to settle on top of the porcelain throne when taking a leak.

It seems these men are on to something, as studies suggest it pays to take a pew when you pee.
