DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A comedy show in Dothan has been canceled after a popular southern comedian was arrested this week on child porn charges.

Jon Reep was arrested in his hometown of Hickory, North Carolina, on Friday after being indicted on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second and third degree.

Reep was set to perform at the Dothan Opera House on Sunday, September 14. However, a recent social media post from the opera house revealed the performance had been canceled.

Director of Performing Arts in Dothan, Clay Dempsey, told WDHN that the opera house did not wait for Reep's team to cancel the show and instead decided to pull it after seeing the headlines.

All purchased tickets will be automatically refunded to the original payment method within 72-96 hours.
