A Vancouver man was sentenced Friday to about 13 years in prison for the attempted murder of his son.
Keith Altamirano, 52, pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree attempted murder and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
On Feb. 18, Altamirano drove his Audi SQ5 into his son , Christopher Altmirano, who was riding a motorcycle at the intersection of Southeast Evergreen Highway and Chelsea Avenue. Keith Altamirano left the Audi at the scene and walked away.
Christopher Altmirano suffered such serious injuries to his leg that it had to be amputated, according to court records.
“It was an accident. It was a very terrible tragedy, and I take full responsibility,” Keith Altamirano said.
