ST. PAUL, Minn. (GRAY) – It’s been a week since sources within Governor Tim Walz’s team told media that he was calling members and making preparations for a special session on guns in the wake of a Minneapolis shooting that killed two kids.
There’s still no indication of when — or if — that might happen.
Walz told reporters Tuesday he was hoping to have a package of proposed policy drafted in the coming days.
“There’s a package I’ll put out in the next day or so that I think is very comprehensive,” he said after greeting Eagan students on the first day of school. “It’s been done in other places. It’s been done without infringements on people’s Second Amendment rights.”
As the week now draws to a close, there’s been little word, if any, from the governor on his plans.
