NEW ORLEANS — Update: The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office Friday evening after the ransomware attack.

Everything from court arraignments of newly arrested suspects to defendants being released on bail has been stalled, according to several officials and people who rely on the Sheriff’s Office computer system.

Jasmona Gibson paid for more than $2,000 for her fiancée's bail and court-ordered ankle bracelet on Wednesday.

What she thought would be routine release from the jail the following day has now turned into a stressful waiting game.

“It's very frustrating to have to come up here every day and bother everybody about this situation,” Gibson said. “I really just want my fiancee home.”
