A South Boston woman who allegedly struck and ran over a pedestrian in the parking lot of the South Bay Center over the holiday weekend was impaired, Suffolk prosecutors said Thursday.
Ariella Bezan, 25, was arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of drugs and negligent operation of a motor vehicle on Tuesday in South Boston Municipal Court, court records show.
Pleas of not guilty were entered on her behalf. She was ordered held in lieu of $1,500 cash bail. On Wednesday,Bezan returned to court for status hearing, court records state.
A lawyer was appointed to represent her. She was released on $1,500 bail and ordered to complete a drug treatment program, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden’s office said.
