The TBI is now investigating an inmate-on-inmate assault that resulted in the death of one on Friday.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Corrections personnel assigned to the "George Unit" responded to the fight where an inmate had been badly injured by another inmate with a "makeshift" weapon.

This is the third in-custody death to occur at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center this year.

Within one minute of the attack, HCSO says staff and medical personnel began administering aid to the injured inmate, Leslie Walker.

He succumbed to his injuries before Hamilton County EMS could get him to the hospital.
