AMC Theatres is trying a new tactic to keep horror fatigue at bay at the fall box office as Halloween approaches.

The country’s largest theater circuit on Sept. 5 announced the launch of the “AMC Slash Pass,” a new limited-time ticketing program that coincides with a crowded line-up of genre films getting ready to unfurl between now and the end of the year.

AMC timed its news to the opening of this weekend’s The Conjuring: Last Rites . (The latest Conjuring installment doesn’t appear to need any help, and is on course for a record-shattering domestic opening of $65 million or more.)
