TROY — A man charged with the sexual abuse of children in Pike and Coffee counties will continue to be held without bond, Pike County District Judge Steven Curtis has ruled.

John William Hester, 37, will remain in Pike County Jail where he has been since his arrest by the Brundidge Police Department Aug. 22 on one count of first-degree sodomy and 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

Curtis's ruling comes after Hester, 37, appeared in court in Troy Aug. 27 in an Aniah's Law hearing requesting bond specifically on the charge of first-degree sodomy. He is also charged with 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse
