Legendary head football coach Tom Craft from Riverside City College returns from retirement as assistant to his son

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- The new head football coach at Riverside City College has some big shoes to fill.

His predecessor is a coaching legend... who also happens to be his dad!

When legendary head football coach Tom Craft retired from Riverside City College (RCC) last year, he likely had no idea he'd be back on the field at RCC just a few months later.

He's no longer the top dog on this team, as he now reports to his son, Kevin Craft, who is the new head football coach for the Tigers.

"I love it. I'm having a ball," said Kevin Craft.

"This is a really tough situation for him. A lot of situations would be 'Don't follow your dad.' Go create your own reputation at another program. This is kind of unique. He knows how it should look," Tom Craft said.
