A second woman is charged with homicide in connection with the death of a 9-year-old Fayette County girl found partially submerged in the Youghiogheny River earlier this week, the district attorney said late Friday.

Sarah Shipley, 35, is charged with homicide and conspiracy in connection with the death of Renesmay Eutsey.

Renesmay lived in the Third Street home with Kourtney Eutsey, Ms. Shipley and three other children. Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV previously reported that Ms. Eutsey, Renesmay’s foster mother, is a blood relative of the girl’s biological mother.

Ms. Eutsey was arrested and charged with homicide Thursday.

District Attorney Mike Aubele told KDKA first responders were called to the family’s home Friday morning after Ms. Shipley reportedly suffered an overdose.
