CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Cheatham County family is shaken up after a small plane crashed in the cornfield near their home Friday evening.

The pilot was the only person on the plane when it crashed and is expected to be okay.

Makayla Binkley says she had just gotten home at the time of the crash and didn’t even realize a plane had gone down until she started hearing calls for help from the middle of the field.

“I just pulled in the driveway, came home, had literally just shut my car door, and then I just hear someone say, ‘What’s your address?’ and, like, scream it,” Binkley said.

It turns out, that voice belonged to the pilot who had managed to get out of the plane and call 911.
