NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for late Friday afternoon, into Friday evening.

A First Alert Weather Day is in effect today due to the potential for a few strong to severe thunderstorms across the Midstate. The overall severe threat is more elevated today with much of the area at a 2 out of 5 on that severe scale. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts and storms are also likely to have heavy rainfall. The strongest storms could produce some pea to dime sized hail and I cannot totally rule out an isolated tornado as well.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
