BIGFORK — For the second straight day, Max Milton came to play.

The Polson golfer scorched Eagle Bend for a 7-under 65 Thursday, winning medalist honors by nine strokes and leading the Pirates to the boys team title at the Steve Hullett Invitational.

Milton was medalist for the second straight day, as was Whitefish’s Karlee Brown: Both athletes had the low scores at Wednesday’s Whitefish Invitational. Whitefish won the girls team title for the second straight day as well.

With Carson Emerson and Cash Brown both breaking 80, Polson finished with 303 strokes to win the team title by 10 over Whitefish. Corvallis, which won the Whitefish Invitational with 308 strikes — three less than Polson — was third at 316.

Milton shot a 65 that day as well on the par-71 Whitefish Lake Golf Club.
