A viral video showing Lipscomb police detaining three teens over Labor Day weekend is receiving new attention from city officials, as the attorney for those detained plans to take legal action, alleging excessive force and civil rights violations.
Johnathan Austin stated that his clients sustained several injuries, including to the head, neck, ankles, and wrists. Following the mayor's address, questions remain unanswered.
Austin criticized the mayor's news conference on Friday afternoon , saying it offered no accountability for what happened to his three clients last Sunday. He described the police interaction as excessive force.
