SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - A retired Springfield police officer is facing charges of child molestation.
89-year-old Robert “Bob” Albert was a Springfield Police officer from 1967 to 1987.
Two women have come forward, claiming he molested them as children in the early 2000s.
According to court documents, Albert faced charges in 2012, but the girl’s parents decided not to move forward.
Police said she is one of the two women pushing for prosecution now.
Child advocates say it can take a child 30-40 years before they tell someone they were hurt.
