The No. 22 Aggies defeated UTSA 42-24 in their season opener, although the Roadrunners exposed Texas A&M's run defense as Robert Henry Jr. ran for 177 yards with two touchdowns on 16 carries.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was fantastic in his first season-opening start, as he completed 22 of 34 passes for 289 yards with four touchdowns. Highly sought-after transfers Mario Craver (Mississippi State) and KC Conception (NC State) also proved their worth, with eight receptions for 122 yards with two touchdowns and three receptions for 72 yards and a score, respectively.
Utah State, also the Aggies, defeated UTEP 28-16 in its season opener.
