CROWN POINT — Crown Point football reinvented itself again.
The new-look Times No. 1 Bulldogs beat No. 2 Merrillville 35-21 to claim a 30th consecutive regular season win. That streak includes 22 victories against Duneland Athletic Conference rivals since losing to Michigan City on Oct 15, 2021.
Players — including four 2024 Times First-Team All-Area members — changed.
Results have not.
“We just want to prove that we’re still here,” junior running back Brayden Schutt said.
His Bulldogs are. Gone are 2,453-yard passer Noah Ehrlich and 1,586-yard rusher Larry Ellison to graduation. In their place Friday were two quarterbacks who combined for just 61 passing yards and seven rushers who took 57 combined carries for 361 yards.
