Not many make it the experience of a lifetime.
Essexville Garber sent fifth-quarter kicker Eli Bebow onto the field for the biggest moment of the game. The sophomore sent a 21-yard field goal through the uprights, lifting the Dukes to a stunning 24-23 win over Flint Powers.
“I asked him if he could bang it from the hash – because the angle was tough – and he said ‘Yes, Coach,’” Garber coach Dave Matthews said. “With the culture we’ve built, we’re trusting kids to make plays in big situations.”
