Sixty years ago, on Sept. 6, 1966, the Citizen Tribune was born.
The paper was created to serve the eight-county Lakeway Region, providing news coverage on a broader basis and helping the paper’s advertisers reach a wider audience.
Through the ensuing decades, the Tribune has documented the Region’s growth, from its development as a furniture and textile manufacturing mecca to its rebirth as a diverse manufacturing hub and budding tourism destination.
The Tribune has been there to document the lives of the people of the Lakeway Region as well as their extraordinary achievements.
