Autumn has no shortage of traditions: digging out cosy jumpers from your wardrobe, drinking pumpkin-spiced lattes, snuggling up on the sofa to watch Great British Bake Off, to name but a few.
Going for a walk and taking in the beautiful colours of changing leaves on the trees is another one. There’s something special about feeling the crunch of leaves underfoot and noticing how the light changes at this time of the year.
On the outskirts of Oldham is Tandle Hill Country Park and it’s one of the best places for an autumn walk.
Covering an area of around 48 hectares, it features a mixture of woodland grassland, with towering trees which begin to transform from vivid green to burning read as the season progresses.
