CLEVELAND, Ohio - A decade-long search for a man wanted on multiple charges involving minors ended on Friday when U.S. marshals arrested him in New Orleans.

Shawn Brooks, 37, who has evaded law enforcement since 2013, was arrested at a residence in the 800 block of 3rd St. in New Orleans.

When officers attempted to arrest him, Brooks barricaded himself inside the home and crawled into a neighboring attic before being taken into custody.

Brooks faces multiple sex offense charges in two states.

In Florida, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant in 2013 for 15 counts of sexually related offenses involving minors. The charges include lewd molestation and sexual performance by a child.
