The Maitland Pickers have booked their place in a fourth Newcastle RL grand final in a row with an emphatic 36-8 win against the Cessnock Goannas.
The Pickers ran in six tries to two to dominate the game from start to finish in front of a huge crowd at the Maitland Sportsground.
There were emotional scenes after the final siren, with the Pickers gathering with family and friends, soaking in that they were into another grand final and had the chance to claim a record fourth.
Pickers coach Matt Lantry spoke to the playing group after the game and paid tribute to their remarkable ability to lift for big games.
Lantry said while there was still a lot of work to be done, the quest for a record fourth title in a row was now in their hands and just one win away.
