With many New Jersey children heading back to school this week, the state Department of Transportation has unveiled new digital highway signs that may remind drivers of their days sitting in class.

The latest batch of signs began running Aug. 28 on road signs throughout the state, DOT public information officer Lizzy Galamba told NorthJersey.com. Each of the seven messages contains elements related to the classroom, from grades and school supplies to detention and passing notes, that urge motorists to maintain safe driving habits.
