Not often does a club in the Atlanta Braves’ position go outside of the organization to add a potential impact player to the roster with just a month remaining in a season.

That, however, is what the Braves did by claiming veteran infielder Ha-Seong Kim off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week.

That move served not only as an opportunity for two sides to get to know one another this year, but it could potentially fill the team’s need for an all-around solution to the shortstop position next year.

With three weeks remaining, the Braves are hoping Kim has ample opportunity to familiarize himself with both the team and the city he could call home next season.

That is, if Kim decides to exercise his $16 million player option for 2026.
