BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Hundreds are expected to lace up Saturday for a record-breaking cake walk at the new Special Olympics Michigan campus south of Grand Rapids.

The event, hosted by Consumers Credit Union and Nothing Bundt Cakes, runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Unified Sports and Inclusion Center, where more than 700 participants will walk in rhythm to music hoping to claim one of 10 big prizes. Each registered walker will receive a numbered bib and a coupon for a free Bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Registration is free, and the walk steps off at 11:30 a.m. Families can enjoy food trucks, music, games and prizes while taking part.

Half of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Michigan, which serves 22,000 athletes across the state. The rest will support be nice.,
