After a busy first day, the Town of Penhold's annual Fall Festival continues into the weekend.
"This is the biggest event that we do. It's my favourite event in Central Alberta. We have so much going on Friday and Saturday. It gets bigger and better every year," said Mayor Michael Yargeau.
The two-day event began on Friday, Sept. 5, with several activities throughout the day. The day got started with Mayor Mike's Mini Marathon for a Cause.
"It's a 500-metre fun run, with a snack break at the 250 metre," said Yargeau.
"We have an Oktoberfest theme this year, so people are encouraged to dress up and have fun with it — we give prizes away for the best dressed, the fastest youth and the fastest overall. ... All the money goes to a local group and this year we're supporting the group in tow
