The estimated $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot for tonight's drawing is the second largest in U.S. lottery history.

The jackpot's cash option is an estimated $826.4 million. The largest Powerball jackpot on record was a $2.04 billion prize awarded in California in November 2022.

A player who wins can choose an annuitized prize of $1.8 billion paid over 30 years or a lump sum payment. Both amounts are before taxes.

Tonight's drawing is the 42nd since the jackpot was last won on May 31.
