YOUNGSTOWN A woman has been arrested and charged with murder following a shooting on the city's West Side that police describe as a domestic homicide.

Youngstown police were called to the 2600 block of Tyrell Avenue at approximately 1:35 a.m. for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old female with a gunshot wound inside an apartment.

Attempts to save the victim were not successful. The victim was not publicly identified by police.

Devyonna Taylor, 22, the victim's girlfriend, was arrested and transported to the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office. She faces a murder charge.

The Youngstown Police Department Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and are investigating. No additional information was immediately available.
