A man was arrested Friday night after a handgun discharged during a struggle after an argument at a South Loop business, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a 31-year-old man was involved in an argument with a 32-year-old man at a business located in the 1300 block of South Michigan Avenue. The argument became physical and the younger man pulled out a weapon that discharged fatally striking the employee to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A man was taken into custody and charges were pending. A weapon also was recovered at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting.
