ST. PAUL — Malorie Thorson knew that time flies when you're at the Minnesota State Fair, but she wasn’t prepared for how fast it goes when you’re the top dairy princess for it.

Thorson, a 20-year-old college student from Waverly representing Wright County, was crowned the 72nd Princess Kay of the Milky Way in an evening ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, a week before the 12-day fair ran until Labor Day.

As the official goodwill ambassador for the Minnesota dairy community for the next year, Thorson will be making public appearances to connect dairy producers with consumers.

Near the halfway point of the fair, Thorson could be found one morning mingling with fair-goers and posing for photos with kids inside the Moo Booth. Between networking, media interviews and conversations
