The N.C. State Wolfpack football team returns to action Saturday, Sept. 6, at noon (ESPN2), hosting the Virginia Cavaliers at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh in a rare nonconference bout between the ACC schools.
Both squads arrive fresh off Week 1 wins: the Wolfpack edged East Carolina 24-17 behind a strong 318-yard performance from sophomore quarterback CJ Bailey , who added a rushing score. Virginia, meanwhile, demolished Coastal Carolina 48-7 behind dynamic play from transfer QB Chandler Morris.
Dave Doeren's squad is aiming for its first 2-0 start to a college football season since 2022 as it faces Virginia for the 58th time since 1904. The Wolfpack leads the series with an all time record of 36-21-1.
