Summer may be heading for the exit, but outdoor recreation and exploration don’t have to go with it.

“Vancouver is the ideal locale because it’s perfectly situated within easy driving distance of numerous state parks, making it easy for families to continue to enjoy the area and plan quick trips despite busier schedules,” Washington State Parks spokesperson Sarah Fronk said.

With Fronk’s help, we assembled this guide to state parks within 90 minutes of the Vancouver area — including two in Clark County — complete with one cool thing to do and one interesting fact for each. (Don’t forget that state park admission costs $10 for a one-day Discover Pass or $30 for an annual Discover Pass.)
