The Alpine F1 team and its driver, Pierre Gasly , have signed a new contract extension that locks their partnership until the end of 2028. The announcement comes ahead of the Italian Grand Prix qualifying session.

Gasly moved from AlphaTauri (now Racing Bulls) to Alpine in 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter with a team that has since overcome several challenges, including a leadership overhaul and the setbacks relating to its F1 car, which is reportedly underpowered.

Gasly's current contract was set to expire at the end of 2026, the year when F1 enters a new era of regulations. However, it seemed like both parties were eager to extend their relationship. Announcing the contract extension, the team stated :
