The mornings are cooling off and the sunsets are coming quicker and quicker by the day. Every year our students have a couple of weeks to get settled into classes and their routine — just in time for the Colorado Mesa University football team’s home opener at Stocker Stadium.

This year is no different as our Mavericks prepare to take on Eastern New Mexico University at 6 p.m. tonight.

Over the past number of years, our community has stepped up in a big way to support the CMU football team. Anyone who’s joined us for pregame tailgate events — or the games themselves — can feel the electricity that comes with college game day.
