(1) Harvey Thomas: The youngster had his “moment” in this game. GWS were in deep, deep trouble in the third quarter, trailing by 42 points, when Thomas pounced and applied a tackle on Karl Amon in the forward 50. He went back and slotted the goal and it gave them a sniff and started their revival. 5.5/10

(2) Darcy Jones: The hard-luck story of the game. Jones left the field late in the first half with a potentially ruptured ACL. Jones had scored a brilliant goal on the run in the second quarter when the Giants were battling to find their way. 6/10
