The "victim" in this case is the 1942 feature film The Magnificent Ambersons, the period drama by Orson Welles that infamously lost 43 minutes of footage forever when the film was burned by studio executives. Ambersons is considered by many to be one of the best motion pictures ever made, so it's fair to say not everyone is happy with this news.
